High School Production of Sound of Music?

If I'm auditioning for a high school production of the Sound of Music what would be a good song to sing? I'm not sure what song to sing! any help would be appreciated

Something else by Rodgers and Hammerstein. If you're aiming for Maria then "I Whistle A Happy Tune" from The King And I is ideal. For Liesl, I'd use "Out of My Dreams" from Oklahoma as I've always seen similarities between Liesl and Laurey (who sings that song). Any other parts, try "I Enjoy Being A Girl" from Flower Drum Song.

What are good boarding high schools for music production?

okay, so I'm only in 7th grade but i know what i want to do. I want to go into music production. I know what collage i want to go to but i want to make sure i get in that collage. My friend told me about a a boarding (high school) school in California and that it specializes in arts and things so i want something very similar. So what im asking is a for a boarding high school, anywhere in the US that has a music production program. Thanks

Music Production what should I do

I am going into my first year in high school. I would really like to go to college for music production. I was wondering what kind of things I should do to help me get into a good college for music production.

If your school has a Music & Computers program, take that. Taking communications technology and computer courses would also help. Alot of music production is done digitally nowadays (Unless the artist wants a raw sound, then they might go with analog) and getting involved with local radio stations, volunteering for your high school’s tech crew, etc will certainly help. Familiarize yourself with some basic music mixing programs and some very basic producing prgrams, like Garageband.

Getting started with music production help?

I have little to no experience with producing music on the computer. I do, however, have more than enough musical background to make up for it. I want to be like that producer Rsherfan who's a rnb, rap, hip hop, and soul producer in Sydney, Australia. I played the trumpet from 4th-8th grade, moved to Florida and decided I won't do band and focus more on computers. I also play the piano keyboard(been playing since I was 4-5 in my dads band but the band stopped and I didn't really play for about 4-5 yrs after). When I was 8, I got a guitar for Christmas and I learned to play! The problem is that I haven't taken any courses related to music in high school, but I'm sure I want to learn in college. The thing is that I plan on majoring in computer & information sciences and I've taken some computer related courses in high school. My family notices my musical talent, so I believe music production is worth pursuing. I'm about to be 18 in a couple of days as well. Any suggestions?

an internship is always great. You may not get paid but you learn. There may also be a summer program you can take. There are also those one years/ acouple of months programs schools.

Is a Alienware m5550 laptop good for music??

Im thinking about getting the Area-51 m5550. It looks good plus seems like it should be pretty stable under pressure. just need to know if its a good computer for music production and school work . know theyre realy meant for gaming but i just need to know if its powerful enough for music production which takes alot of power.

comparable software for a windows box costs more and isn't as nice. Get a macbook pro.

Is there a school in L.A. where I can Major in Musicc Production and Minor in Business or Photography?

I have always wanted to live/visit L.A. But never had the chance, and I'd love to go to school there.

I'm only in 9th grade but I'm almost 99% positive I want to take up a career in music production, one day I want to own my own huge record label. But I also love photography.

So should I take business? Or photography?if I just take music production could I still own a big business?

It is very difficult to own a music production house, it needs lot of money and other thing is to sell the product and it depends on the public mind whether they liked it or not.
You are still very young, finish your school and then you will get clear picture for your future course of action.

What would be a good aria or song for a Baritone to sing to pass an IB high school music requirement?

I have a good baritone voice, performed Gaston in the high school production of Beauty & the Beast, but need to learn and tape myself singing a song to get a good mark on the International Baccalaureate Secondary School exam. What piece should I do? Toreador from Carmen?If I Can't Love Her (Beast in Beauty & the Beast) Ave Maria? O Holy Night? Some other option? (Please advise) Should be something challenging but recognizable internationally

woah. were in the SAME EXACT stiuation. woah crazy. anyways, well i chose mine and i chose "somewhere over the rainbow", but the tony bennet version. thats my jazz peice. my classical peice is "Frostiana", you know the poem by Robert Frost, and my foreign language peice is "Cielito Lindo"

it was REALLY hard finding the sheet music i want, but i had the original pieces and, with the help of my accompianist, i altered the songs to fit my voice.

How can get into law school with an undergrad in audio production?

I graduated in 2000, have been traveling and working abroad in broadcasting and education for 5 years. Upon teaching and excelling at debate, public speaking, and critical thinking, I'm seriously interested in studying law and getting a degree. Maybe doing intellectual property law or something that connects to my undergrad (music production/ music industry stuff). Any suggestions?

You don't have to have a specific major to apply to law school. Schools look for grades and lsat scores primarily, but they also look at other factors so that they can put together a diverse student body.

As part of your application you will have to complete a personal statement so be sure to include some of the things you have done in the past which would definitely set you apart.

The IP field can be hard to get into since some firms look for particular undergraduate majors so you would definitely want to emphasize how your music production background would fit into IP.
