Sponsors in the Orlando area for an expensive school field trip to NYC?

My school band is going to NYC for our field trip this year. It's my last year in middle school and I'd hate to miss out on this, since many people I know are going. We're going to NYC to see Ground Zero so that we can do our project (writing a piece of music evoking the emotions of 9/11) better. I see that going gives such a great advantage, so I want to go to experience it to make my piece more convincing.

Anyway, does anyone here know of any likely sponsors for such a field trip in the Orlando, FL, area? Since it's a public school, it's a 501(c)(3) donation so it's tax deductible. If you know of anyone able to donate from $50 to $650 (cost of trip) in my area, please tell me! If I don't raise enough money I won't be able to go, which would really suck.

I suggest checking with charitable organizations near by, try looking in google under "charitable organizations" and you start with 2,030,000 web sites to with info that may help you find assistance…

how can i become a music producer?

I just left the US army not too long ago and Im a transition from military to civilian life again. I love music and i would like one day to become a record producer. Do you know any websites that can help out on the basics on music since I'm a complete beginner. What schools do you recomend in the NYC area? thanks

Garage Band (mac program) or sometype of programs might help and then going to a music college, heres all of the ones in New York…

Liberal arts colleges in NYC?

ok so im interested in psychology, journalism, and maybe education (although im not too sure about that one). i want to go to school in NYC and a liberal arts school would have all of these. even a school not in nyc but a city would be okay but i would prefer nyc. i dont want any preppy/frat/sorority stuff and i want a good music scene (no stereotypical dave matthews band lovers and the like, no poser music such as that). and it'd have to be under 30,000 but preferrably like 25,000. ive only gotten a few results from collegeboard and stuff so does anyone know of any good schools like that?

Eugene Lang is a very funky school dude. Everyone is cool and the classes are discussion based. They have the program in which you can complete your Masters in 5 years for any major. Yeah so I hope you check out the school and you fall in love with it. If you want to study abroad, they allow you to as many times as you would like to, there is no limits. they also dont look strictly at the SAT's which is cool. Umm yeah Hope I helped!!!

What are the benefits of becoming an Art Student?

I'm a senior in high school, and confused about which college I want to go to. I cant decide between art school and a normal liberal arts college. Im an avid artist, but i also love languages and music. For my college experiecne I want to be surrounded by creative people like me who can inspire and push me to be the best i Can be. Im a 17 year old girl living in NJ and most of all I would love to go to college in NYC.

Is art school the way to go? What can i become after college that will ensure some kind of income?

okay, there is liberal arts and two kinds of art schools
one kind is strictly aimed at one variety such as Cooper Union is focused primarily on art and science. The other kind of art is focused on the arts, like dancing, drawing, music and cooking, like the art institute of New York

liberal arts is like NYU, it has a good art program, but you can also take classes in other subjects.

Just go to a college that is mainly art in general

What type of questions does the FBI ask in a polygraph exam?

I'm applying for an internship with the FBI, and eventually for a career as a special agent. I was wondering if anyone has any first-hand knowledge of the type of questions you're asked during their polygraph exams. Are they simply questions such as "have you done drugs?", "have you ever worked for a foreign government?", etc. Or are they much deeper, personal questions?

Would little things like having bought an illegal pair of Oakley sunglasses on the street in NYC once back in high school, or having illeaglly downloaded music, just for examples, count as things they'd care about or are would they not care that much about little things like that as long as you are telling the truth and being honest?
p.s. I don't want stupid answers like "Do you enjoy tapping phones, even if it is some innocent American?….If you hate America and its freedoms, you should love being an FBI agent. " In other words, I don't want answers from ignorant people such as this user. The FBI's top priority is counterterrorism – ya know, preventing another 9/11. So if that's what you consider hating America, well then you prob. have the IQ of a piece of broccoli. Everyone criticizes like "oh, God they tap phones" – but if that's what it takes to catch terrorist cells in the U.S., then so be it. If we get attacked again, I bet you'll be that same person complaining that the FBI & CIA should have done more to protect America. Ever hear the expression "freedom isn't free?" Yeah, some rights need to be stretched to keep the country safe in today's world. No agent has ever tapped an innocent American's phone with malicious intent, and when it does happen it gets investigated. Go get your facts straight.

I would assume that the questions would be as those in a life style poly, i.e., questions regarding sex, family members, what ifs, would you, have you ever thought of…

Most of these questions will be whacky questions which most of us would think are offensive. Be prepared to get hit with questions you wouldn't even imagine.

I was also told by someone who took a lifestyle poly that the questions were so offensive that she couldn't finish — she was actually embarassed and became very defensive. She went back 6 months later and was well prepared to answer the questions head on and truthfully.

NYPD or NYC TEACHER career..HELP?

32 yrs old.
Graduated in 99 with a BA in elementary Education. I been subbing off and on and are disgusted with the teachers and kids at my schools. Anytime there is a problem, the adminstrators turn their back on you. I want a career change. My dream teaching job is to teach High school music but due to budget cuts those are usually the first jobs to go..and i cant find any anyways..
Do you think it is worth switching to NYPD , i have a interest in law enforcement …or just keep dealing with the kids and crap. I dont also want to get hurt as a cop

help!!! Preforming Arts????????

hello! i am only in the 8th grade but i am very VERY interesting in pursuing a career in musical theatre, or voice instruction. I have been in about 13 plays so far at schools and community theatre. I take voice lessons now, and previously took piano lessons but had to quit for financial reasons. I am very smart and get straight a's. I was looking at this vocational school by my house and looking into going there for preforming arts, but i read on yahoo answers that "bad" kids go there and its hard o get into collage if you attended a vocational school. I really want to go to collage though so i am not sure if the vocational school is right for me. I am hoping to go to a music school in NYC such as Julliard. I was just wondering if anyone can give me advice on what i should do to presume a career in theatre. Thanks! =]]

I would suggest that you go to a regular school, do as much theatre as you can there, find a community theatre group and do as much theatre with them as you can, keep up the voice lessons if you can and find places to perform (such as with a community choir) as much as you can, and then you will have a lot of experience to put on that college application.

Juilliard and NYU are pretty well known in New York.
