Which is a better college, Julliard, or Manhatten school of music? ?
29th November 2008
I’m still only in middle school (8th grade), but I still REALLY need to go to college. I want to be be a vocalist, and I want to live in New York ,but I need to know which school is better.(If you can think of better schools in New York feel free to tll me!)
They are both great, my sister went to both for viola, BA at Manhatten and MA at Julliard. It really depends on who will be your teachers. I recomend visiting both and meeting with your potential instructors and then making a decision. However, MSM tends to be easier to get in to. The Julliard School might have the name, but if another school has the right instructor, that is where you should try to go.

No matter which you go to itll all depend on your professors, so its hard to say. However, Julliard has the higher reputation.

Julliard’s acceptance rate is lower than that of Harvard’s… only the best of the best get in. I’m not sure how well you are at your profession, but you might stand a higher chance of entry at Manhattan…

I have not heard of the latter, but I hear great things about Juilliard.
Have you ever seen August Rush? It’s an amazing movie about music (I love movies about music — I so can’t wait to see The Soloist!) and well, I don’t want to ruin the movie, but anyways, I hear that Juilliard is the most prestigious music school, so if you’re dedicated, and if you really want this, then as long as you work hard, I’m sure you can go anywhere you want — even Juilliard, the most prestigious music school, or at least, that’s what I’ve heard. Good luck, and I hope this helps.
